In Shopping your title does the job a keyword list does elsewhere. Get it right and you appear for specific, high-intent searches. Get it wrong and you compete for vague ones you will never convert.
A formula that works
Brand + product type + key attributes + variant — ordered with the most-searched terms first, because titles get truncated.
| Vertical | Attributes that matter most |
|---|---|
| Fashion | Material, colour, size, gender, style |
| Jewelry | Material, stone, size, gender, occasion |
| Home decor | Material, dimensions, room, colour, style |
| Auto | Make, model, year, fitment, position |
| Beauty | Concern, ingredient, skin type, volume |
Four ways to make a product invisible
- Marketing language. "Amazing", "hot sale 2026", "must have". Nobody searches those.
- SKUs in the title. Meaningless to buyers and to matching.
- Keyword stuffing. Titles get truncated and stuffing reads as spam to reviewers.
- Omitting the variant. If size and colour are not in the title, Google may show the wrong one and you pay for a click that could never convert.
Where to get the words
From your own search terms report. The queries already converting in the account are the vocabulary your buyers actually use — better than any keyword tool, and free.
